Qrendi

Our Lady of Lourdes

Qrendi’s titular statue of Our Lady of Lourdes was crafted in 1878 by renowned Maltese sculptor Karlu Darmanin. It is made of papier-mâché and remains a focal point during the annual feast. The statue is housed in the left transept of the church, near an altar dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary. A painting nearby, attributed to 18th-century artist Giannikol Buhagiar, adds further historical depth to the church’s interior.
